First of all (eek!) we love this crumbling grand entry above!! Below are a few different takes on entry hallways. Some are more dressed down than others but each has a very distinct mood that sets the tone for the rest of the home. The entry is the first impression and while a hall may feel space-restricting, the approaches to decorating it are really not as limiting as you may think! Keep it simple and rely on a great light fixture to define the space. A piece of art over a narrow console is always a safe bet or a bench, like the built in below with a row of little lamps (we would probably opt for candles). We're dying to use our new, large X-shaped rack in an entry or mudroom (at bottom) for hanging bags and coats -- it would add instant personality, don't you think?
